We are going to find out whether chicken recipes are good for your toddlers or not. Why do you have to introduce chicken or meat in their diet? And what all you can cook for them which is not just easy to digest but also fulfill their body requirements as per their body need and necessities.

Planning meals for toddlers and kids is often difficult. And it's important that, toddler's meals need to be healthy and balanced which is nutritious and full of vital vitamins and minerals, carbohydrates, protein, and fibers etc. Generally as a new mother, we get confused what to feed the kids ranging between the age of 1 to 3 years. Many child pediatricians have recommended that chicken can be the first baby's food due to level of iron content. Chickens are often recommended as the first meat in their diet because it is one of the most easily digested type of the meat you feed to your baby. In fact, you can introduce chicken into their diet at the age of 8-10 months only.

At this point of time, your kid is active and is learning to eat solid foods. So, introducing something new and tasty is important to build their tasting buds. Generally kids like to eat sweets but often they enjoy tangy or sour food and also spicy food at times. Therefore, it's your responsibility to introduce these tastes in their appetite. The best chicken part to pick for your baby is chicken breasts as its high in protein and lower in fats compared to chicken thighs or legs; however chicken thighs are rich in iron, so it's okay to introduce chicken thighs in their diet and kids love to suck the chicken leg bone too.

But why only to introduce chicken recipes, why not any other protein and iron rich diet? First your toddler needs iron to keep blood in the body and iron also helps in making haemoglobin in your toddler's body. Now it's important to absorb the iron from the food we are giving to them and it's easier to absorb the iron from the meat to non-home iron which is not absorbed easily. Toddlers become fussy eaters at that point of time, so it's important to make them eat everything with different tastes, textures and colors. Generally to the kids of age 1 to 3 it's important to give 1-3 tablespoons of lean meat, chicken, fish. Giving 2 servings each day would fulfill their body requirement. You can also give them this protein and iron rich diet in lunch or even for dinner.

What chicken recipes you can feed them? Chicken soups are the best dish you can serve them; just boil some chicken breasts in a scant amount of water with veggies and bit of seasoning and basil or garlic powder. Then make a smooth puree by blending it all it a blender. You can also make some tender chicken breast recipes in a slowcooker by adding ample amount of water. Even a baked chicken retains its all the nutrients. Bake chicken, add dry spices and lemon, shred them to make it easily chewable for your kids or toddlers. For small babies of age 8-10 months, make an easy baby food by blending cooked chicken and cooked apple (no skin & seeds) and make a nice puree of it. You can also use homemade apple sauce for it.

Remember always to consult with your pediatrician when you are about to introduce solid foods to your baby and specifically discuss any foods that may pose allergy risks for your baby.
